Advocacy

Since 2007, I have successfully advocated for many families in Northeastern Ohio.  I believe through a cooperative process families learn what they need to know to help their child receive an appropriate education and a satisfying school experience.

I provide skilled advocacy services to assist families to navigate the special education system to help parents obtain and improve appropriate educational school experiences for their student(s). I also provide advocacy services for students where the traditional school experience may not be possible due to medical or complex care challenges.

Advocacy services may include direct assistance in preparation and attendance for IEP, ETR, 504, Progress Monitoring, and MDR meetings.  I have experience with school-related discipline & expulsion meetings and mediation sessions.

Alternatively, I provide limited consultation services to families that are looking for help with reviewing documentation and developing strategies going forward that don't require my full participation.

My ultimate goal for these services is to empower parents to be able to independently advocate for their children.
